Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in one place the cops are sure she won't be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.
Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story, Sister Act will leave audiences breathless. For over 50 years the Scouts and Guides of Congleton have presented their ever popular CONGLETON GANG SHOW, and we are back this year. Our first show was back in 1972, as part of the town's Charter Year celebrations, and we are proud to now host our 27th show.
Join this year’s cast and crew of over 100 young people and their leaders as they bring a must see musical and entertainment extravaganza to the Daneside Theatre in Congleton. The Gang Show is a unique, action-packed variety show filled with fun, colour, music, singing, dancing, comedy and laughter with something to appeal to all ages. Book early as demand is high for this popular variety show of fun and family entertainment.

The Rotary Club of Congleton's Annual Christmas Concert gets the traditional Christmas season off to a flying start. The Christmas spirit is infectious and the concert features returning regulars, Silk Brass and the accomplished choristers from the Eaton Bank Encore Choir, performing a programme of Christmas favourites with music from the movies, carols and more than a few seasonal sing-a-longs. Also billed to attend is The Smallwood Primary Spotlight Choir, who brought their fresh and charming contribution to the concert for the first time last year.
Once again, the Rotary Christmas Concert promises to be a special night to remember.
