Daneside Theatre Trust Ltd is the company who own Daneside Theatre. You can read all about our history here.. We don't have a theatrical company, and we dont generally put on any shows of our own. We do look after the theatre, and hire it out to other local groups who do put on shows.
We do occasionally put on our own shows, which raise much needed funds to maintain and improve the venue.
The Trust is run by a committee of 18, made up of representatives of the societies who use the building as well as some independant members. There are a number of official posts within the committee, including the usual Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary etc.The Trusts main aim is to provide the Theatre building to the societies, and others, at a reasonable cost which they can afford, and to provide a high standard of decor, equipment, and availability wherever possible.
Since 1998 we have been promoting shows by touring theatre companies. This has been made possible by grants from many funding bodies including the local and regional councils, the National Lottery, the Granada foundation and many other smaller grants.
We are members of Cheshire's Rural Touring Network, and benefit from the excellent work done by that organisation.
We also support a small number of fund raising events put on on our behalf, including shows which kick off the Autumn season.
